Felicitas Global Pte Ltd, Singapore along with its partner Lotus Exhibitions, India organized a very successful visit of a high level business delegation to Malaysia & Singapore in November 2009 for The Federal Investment Council, Argentina. The delegation was led by the governors of the three main provinces of Argentina (Santa Fe, Entre Rios & Cordoba).
The visit featured Argentine companies from the following industrial sectors:
- Citrus (fresh fruits and fruit juices)
- Meat (beef, pork, chicken, rabbit, others)
- Dairy products (cheese, milk)
- Pharmaceuticals (for human and animal consumption)
- Polo (polo sticks)
- IT Solutions (for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of large civil and service works)
- Leather industry (bovine hide products, leather flower, rugs patchwork, alfombras animal print)
- Plastic pallets, tanks
Over 300 B2B meetings were organized for the Argentine companies during their visit to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
The visit in Malaysia was inaugurated with a seminar organized at the JW Marriott Hotel on 11th November 2009 which was attended by 80 representatives from the Malaysian business community, media as well as government agencies and trade associations. The seminar also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between CFI & the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce for mutual cooperation between the two for promoting technical and business collaboration between the two countries. The seminar received the support of the Ministry of International Trade & Industry, the Malaysian National Chamber of Commerce as well as the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce. The Guest of Honour at the Seminar was Tan Sri Halim Bin Mohammad, Chairman Matrade.
The seminar was followed by a networking lunch and by B2B meetings between the visiting Argentine companies and their Malaysian counterparts. More than 90 meetings were held over two days to discuss possible areas of cooperation between the companies. Visits were also organized for the government officials to the Proton factory in Malaysia. A briefing for the delegation was conducted by the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce.
In Singapore, the seminar was inaugurated on 16th November 2009 at the Hilton Hotel. The event was attended by representatives of various government agencies in Singapore such as Singapore Economic Development Board, International Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Business Federation, Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Singapore International Chamber of Commerce.
The Argentine delegation was also received by the Minister for Trade & Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang who discussed possible areas of growth in trade between Argentina & Singapore. Visits were also organized to the Port Authority of Singapore, Singapore Chinese Chamber and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce.
